Monday...thank goodness it's over!
The day started at 5:30 when the assistant's alarm went off. It was her first day back to work since Wednesday, and we didn't want her to go. Then the boss man got up and started preparing the ingredients for something he called 'gumbo'. All he kept telling us while he was chopping, dicing and slicing was, "this isn't cooking, this is a part-time job!". While he was busy doing that, Miss Judy arrived at 8:00 to load up Wesley and Smoke to take them to the doctor for their 8:30 check in for surgery today. Then she came back, cleaned the Palace and then came into the office to do inventory and catalogue our medical cupboard. The assistant came home at 1:30 and immediately started cleaning! She washed all the linens, vaccuumed and mopped, even under the bed, and then proceeded to wash all the walls, and furniture throughout the house. At 4:30 she went to pick up the boys and got them home safe and settled into their cages. Then more cleaning, laundry, paperwork, feeding the Palace, garage, barn and us, and now the rice is cooking and they will have dinner at a respectable 8:30 pm. I don't know about you, but I was already exhausted from watching all the activity, and now I'm about to collapse from writing it all down. Smoke and Wesley can tell you themselves, and tomorrow, about their day today. Tomorrow the alarm is going off at 4:00 am! I don't even want to imagine what the rest of the day will be like from there. Right now I just need to sleep! Love, Baxter
