Welcome to trapping central. These 11 cats had their 'spaycations' today; are now resting comfortably and will be returned to their colonies over the next 48 hours. There isn't enough thanks we can give to our amazing Veterinarian, Dr. Jennifer Haney and her team at Healthier Pet - Animal Wellness Center for their wonderful care and handling of every animal they see. Dr. Haney has altered 90% of all the cats we have trapped in the last year and a half and we couldn't do what
I am so touched by all the wonderful name suggestions you have sent for me. Thank you so much, and please know that I am taking them all under deep consideration, but as you can see, my time is not my own right now! While I'm making this important decision, I wanted you to meet my babies. 4 are mine and about 3 weeks old, and 2 orphans, a few days behind mine and in need of a mom recently joined the family. I'm very happy that they are all very healthy and growing like weeds.
Say hello to this lovely lady. We picked her up on Saturday after receiving an emergency call about her. She showed up at a home in the area of N Rangeline Road and W County Rd 325 N, in Huntington, IN quite a few months ago. She is presently with Jamie's Legacy and will be scheduled for s
I hope I'm safe here in my cubicle. Some strong plastic wrap surrounding me would definitely make me feel safer though. Maybe I can convince the Mr. to rig something up for me? It's the Assistant, she is barking like a dog!! She woke up yesterday morning with burning in her throat and chest. As the day progressed she quickly started barking. Long, loud barking. I had no idea that humans had the ability to bark, but this one does. Anyway, whatever she has, I don't want it! Wha
A good day, and it's not quite 'traps closed' yet. Another hour tonight and then back open for business early in the morning. Keep your fingers crossed and send lots of postive energy for the last 3; one more sibling, their elusive and unpredicatable Mom, and a very cool customer Tom. I'm very happy that these 3 babies will not be making their own babies this spring. Lets hear three cheers for Spaycations!! Vistors and residents are all settled for the night, so now it's t
Traps were prepared and loaded in the car last night. With my to-go coffee firmly in hand the trip to today's trapping location starts. Just as daylight begins to break through the dark night sky, the traps are set and patiently waiting for 6 cats to fill our spay/neuter appointments on Monday. An hour later, 2 traps have been tripped and 2 others have been cleaned out of food without a paw on the trip plates. The food is replenished, the day is young, and we will get the res
Our great friend, Grandpa Jones, from Helping Paws Pet Haven, Inc.posted a picture today of his whiskery face for 'Whiskery Wednesday'. Although I love his old whiskers, I just had to share my whiskers cause I'm sure they are just amazing!! I also really wanted to tell you that Grandpa and his crew at Helping Paws are participating in the Animal Rescue Site Shelter Challenge. I think it would be wonderful if we and all our friends can help them win! Simply go to the link belo
