Jamie's Legacy Community T.N.R.

We are contacted daily by Colony Caregivers seeking assistance with their colonies.  Right now we are doing our best to provide TNR for as many Colony Cats as we can to reduce the overwhelming number of births.

In our community alone there are thousands that need to be humanely trapped, transported to a veterinarian for spay/neuter and vaccination, and safely returned to their outdoor home territory.

Our mission is to TNR them all!  We can’t do it without you! Every $55.00 raised will cover the cost of surgery and vaccination for one cat.

Free roaming cats, irrelevant of their feral or socialized status, are here in such overwhelming numbers because humans did not take responsibility for what the cats couldn't, their reproduction.  They did not ask to be born, and they most certainly are not asking to be killed for it.

TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) is the most cost effective and humane method to stabilize the free roaming cat population. Working together as a country, a community, we can stop the overwhelming reproduction cycle.  You, me; humans, the 'humane', are who will make it happen.

Many have Caregivers who are providing them with food, shelter and compassion. These Caregivers did not ask for this responsibility, but they have taken it on because they believe it is the right and humane thing to do.  I have never met a Caregiver that did not want to stop the cycle of reproduction and overpopulation by having the cats they care for altered, but they cannot do it all alone.  They already stretch their resources to the limit feeding and sheltering them.

To date, Jamie’s Legacy has provided TNRM (Trap Neuter Return Management) to over 300 stray/feral Community Cats in Huntington, IN.  These services have included financial and physical assistance with things such as trapping, transportation, holding for before and after care, spay/neuter, rabies, ear tipping, microchipping, flea/worm treatment, emergency medical care, donation of food, training for TNR and colony care and loaning traps.
